When going through the residency process you will most likely have to deal with a Chilean Consulate in the United States. There are seven, official Chilean Consulates in the United States that handle many different tasks for U.S citizens and Chilean citizens. Most consulates close at around 2:00 pm or 3:00pm, so it is wise to handle anything you need earlier in the day. Not all of the consulates speak clear english, but they generally speak enough to get you through the process. Each Chilean Consulate has a "territory" and they do not handle documents outside of their "territory". It is best to call ahead of time to make sure they can handle your documents.
